Race based stress is trauma that is associated with racial events that are unwelcome and painful. Right now, the trauma that we are suffering is rising along with the shared trauma our parents and grandparents about their experiences over the last 50 years living here. The cycle of race based trauma perpetuating time and time again, is scarring us time and time again.

Dr Gail Parker says “racial stress is a cumulative experience that is often magnified by the lack of opportunity to recover before the next experience, causing it to be chronic”

The answer is unity, connection, celebration, joy and collective healing.

My wish is that this will be a space of community, inspiration for self care, ritual and one where ultimately we will feel joy and grow unconditional love to those who look like us and the wider world. We will co create and rise together, and see where this journey takes us.

This is radical love. A space for BPOC people to thrive.

These racial affinity groups are spaces with structure which allow us to process, be validated, feel seen with humility and grace with people like you.
